Welcome to WorkRoot KE ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our job portal website and services located at workroot.co.ke (the "Service") operated by WorkRoot KE.

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you:

  • Are at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in Kenya
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • Will use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Provide accurate and truthful information

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.2 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.3 Account Security

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

4. Use of the Service

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use our Service for lawful purposes only. The Service is designed to connect job seekers with employers and provide career-related resources.

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings or applications
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to solicit unlawful conduct
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to breach our security
  • Scrape or data mine the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5. Job Listings and Applications

5.1 Job Listings

Employers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their job postings. We do not guarantee the accuracy of job listings or the legitimacy of employers.

5.2 Applications

Job seekers are responsible for the accuracy of their applications and uploaded documents. We facilitate connections but are not party to employment agreements.

6. Subscription and Payments

6.1 Premium Services

We offer premium subscription services with enhanced features. All fees are stated in Kenyan Shillings (KES) and are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

6.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through trusted payment gateways including M-Pesa and other approved methods. We do not store payment card information.

6.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of WorkRoot KE and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

8. User Content

8.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. However, you grant us a license to use, display, and distribute your content as necessary to provide the Service.

8.2 Content Standards

All content must be appropriate, legal, and not infringe on the rights of others. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Service, to understand our practices.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

10.1 Service Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkRoot KE shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
